Abstract: Objective To review the effects of mindfulness-based therapy on depression for stroke patients. Methods The researches about the effects of mindfulness-based therapy on depression for stroke patients were recalled from Cochrane Library, PubMed, EMbase, Web of Science, CNKI, WanFang Data and VIP, and analyzed with RevMan 5.3 software. Results Five researches were included, which contained three randomized controlled trials and two clinical controlled trials. Meta-analysis showed that mindfulness-based therapy could decrease the depression score in stroke patients (SMD = -1.05, Z = 3.52, P < 0.001). Conclusion The mindfulness-based therapy could reduce the depression for stroke patients; however, the means of mindfulness need further research.
