This article introduced the history of International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the procedure to formulate international standard, especially the classification of wheelchair and ISO Wheelchair Technical Committee. There are 37 ISO standards on wheelchair published, and other seven ones are being modified. The implication for development of standards on wheelchair in our contry was also discussed.
