Abstract: Objective To observe the effect of core stability training on the associated reaction of upper limbs in stroke patients with hemiplegia. Methods From November, 2014 to May, 2016, sixty stroke patients with hemiplegia were randomly divided into control group (n=30) and treatment group (n=30). Both groups accepted routine rehabilitation, while the treatment group received core stability training for 20 minutes during exercise. They were assessed with Fugl-Meyer Assessment-Upper Extremities (FMA-UE), Fugl-Meyer Assessment-Lower Extremities (FMA-LE), Berg Balance Scale (BBS) and Associated Reaction Rating Scale (ARRS) before and 6 weeks after treatment. Results The scores of FMA-UE, FMA-LE, BBS and ARRS improved significantly in both groups after treatment (t>12.158, P<0.001), and improved more in the treatment group than in the control group (t>2.317, P<0.05).Conclusion Core stability training can relieve the associated reaction of upper limb in stroke patients with hemiplegia.
