Abstract: Objective To quantify the results of the assessment of verbal communication ability in old people, to establish a graded nursing service for the senior. Methods From March, 2016 to May, 2017, 50 old volunteers in the nursing home and hospital were assessed the verbal communication ability with language barrier diagnosis and treatment apparatus ZM2.1. The indexes were analyzed with a fuzzy comprehensive and principal component quantitative analysis model, to grade the verbal communicative ability. The results were compared with that of the clinic. Results Two principal components were extracted, with the variance contribution rates of 77.53% and 14.12%, and was cumulative to 91.65%. The consistency was not less than 80% from the results of the clinical assessment. Conclusion It is feasible to quantify the verbal communication ability in the old people with fuzzy principal component analysis.
