Sensory Impairment and Movement Restriction after Mastectomy: A Case Report

Abstract: Objective To explore the diagnosis and management of post-mastectomy sensory impairment and movement restriction. Methods A case was reviewed. Results She was diagnosed as radiation-induced brachial plexus injury with rotator cuff tear from the history, signs and tests. Her movement was improved and numbness was relieved after rehabilitation.Conclusion The sensory impairment after mastectomy is mainly caused by brachial plexus injuries, and needs to be differentiated from scapulohumeral periarthritis and rotator cuff tear when patients have shoulder movement restriction.
