Abstract: There are 42 higher projects in assistive technology services, 26 projects in assistive technology, and more than 20 projects in prosthetic orthotics in the United States, as retrieved from the internet. Graduate certification, master's degree and doctor's degree with emphasis on assistive technology are the main forms. The curriculum of assistive technology in the United States has reached a relatively mature level. The mandatory requirements and economic guarantee of the use of assistive technology by laws and policies in the United States are important background factors for the development of education. At present, there are four higher education programs about assistive technology service, six projects in assistive technology devices, and five projects in prosthetic orthotics in China. China also needs to develop the higher education of assistive technology, and also looks forward to more powerful support of policies and regulations on the utilization of assistive technology.
