Structural design of an ankle multi-dimensional rehabilitation training device

Abstract: Objective To design a novel ankle rehabilitation trainer to meet the rehabilitation needs of multiple motion after ankle injury.Methods Based on the model of ankle motion, combined with the mechanical design and the rehabilitation techniques, a trainer was designed using SolidWorks software, including rotational plane and dynamic mechanism design, allowing a multi-dimensional motion.Results The trainer completed the motion of plantar-flexion/dorsiflexion, inversion/eversion, and adduction/abduction of ankle, to carry out uniaxial or multidimensional motor rehabilitation.Conclusion The mechanical structure of the rehabilitation trainer is simple, meeting the needs of ankle rehabilitation training program, which can be used to relieve ankle joint motor dysfunction.
