Sigmoid Colon Enterocystoplasty for Urge Incontinence of Neurogenic Bladder: 16 Cases Report

Abstract: Objective To observe the effect of sigmoid colon enterocystoplasty on urge incontinence of neurogenic bladder. Methods 16 patients with urge incontinence without bladder-ureter reflux or hydronephrosis accepted the sigmoid colon enterocystoplasty. They were followed up for 3~24 months. Results No bladder-ureter reflux and hydronephrosis was found. The biochemical parameters were stable. Constipation relieved. All the patients could urinate with abdominal pressure and no urge incontinence happened. The residual urine volume was 10~40 ml. Conclusion Sigmoid colon enterocystoplasty is effective on urge incontinence of neurogenic bladder, as well as on constipation.
