Professor WU Shicai, doctoral supervisor. He currently serves as a member of the 8th executive board of the China Disabled Persons’ Federation (CDPF), Party secretary and director of the China Rehabilitation Research Center (Beijing Boai Hospital), and a member of the Party Committee of the organs directly under the CDPF.
He also holds concurrent posts including standing director of the China Disability Research Society (chairman of its Mental Health Professional Committee), standing director of the China Association of Rehabilitation of Disabled Persons, and vice president of the 7th Beijing Medical Ethics Association (chairman of the Rehabilitation Research Branch under the Beijing Medical Ethics Association).
His major research fields include traditional Chinese medicine literature, medical ethics, and medical philosophy. Besides, he has presided over 7 research projects funded by the National Key R&D Program and the National Social Science Fund of China. Meanwhile, he has authored and co-authored 8 monographs (totaling over 1 million Chinese characters), published more than 70 papers in SCI journals and domestic prestigious journals, and received first, second, and third provincial and ministerial-level awards for a number of research achievements.
In recent years, he has vigorously advanced the technology-enabled disability support strategy and international development of the China Rehabilitation Research Center. He has led the formulation of special implementation plans for technology-enabled disability support and developed an integrated platform of government, industry, university, research institution, and application user, so as to conduct research on key technologies such as rehabilitation robots. Meanwhile, he is committed to international exchanges and cooperation in the rehabilitation sector. Specifically, he has promoted collaboration with rehabilitation institutions in Mexico and countries along the Belt and Road route, and actively fostered an international network for rehabilitation cooperation, contributing Chinese insights to the coordinated development of the global cause for persons with disabilities.
