Massage Technique for Hemiplegic Spasticity (review)

Abstract: The spasticity can affect the motor function, activities of daily living (ADL), quality of life (QOL) of hemiplegic patients,and also delay the rehabilitation process. Principally, the methods of reducing spasticity included physical therapy and medication at present.The massage technique has been having outstanding effect on alleviating spasticity after stroke. This article reviewed the clinical efficacy,methods and mechanisms of massage treatment for hemiplegic spasticity.
