Abstract: ObjectiveTo observe the effect of benazepril combined with hydrochlorothiazide on hypertension complicated with multiple risk factors.Methods87 hypertensive patients were divided into group A (n=40, risk factors <3) and group B (n=47, risk factors ≥3). All patients were treated with benazepril 10 mg and hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg, once per day. Follow-up was performed for 24 weeks. The heart rates, blood pressures, and cardiac ultrasound parameters of all patients were tested before and after treatment.ResultsAfter treatment, the systolic pressure, diastolic pressure and values of cardiac ultrasound parameters of all patients decreased significantly (P<0.05~0.01), and changes of parameters of the group A were greater than that in the group B (P<0.05).ConclusionBenazepril combined with hydrochlorothiazide may improve the blood pressure, pulse pressure and left ventricular hypertrophy in hypertensive patients with multiple risk factors.
