Effects of basic fibroblast growth factor on growth phase of cultured bovine retinal pigment epithelium cells in vitro

Abstract: ObjectiveTo observe the effects of basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) on growth period of cultured bovine retinal pigment epithelium cells in different durations.MethodsDifferent proportion of phase with 4 ng/ml bFGF were measured by Flow Cytometry (FCM) assay.ResultsbFGF increased the RPE cells' proportion of phase S and decreased the proportion of phase G0-G1. ConclusionbFGF can stimulate RPE cells from phase G1 to phase S.
