Relationship between Nerve Location and Acupuncturing Effect in Patients with Peripheral Facial Paralysis

Abstract: Objective To investigate the relationship between nerve location and acupunture effect in patients with peripheral facial paralysis.Methods92 patients with peripheral facial paralysis, included simple facial paralysis (36 cases), Bell's paralysis (46 cases) and Hunt's paralysis (10 cases), were treated with acupuncture and medicine.ResultsEffect of the treatment was different from each groups. The curetive effect of simple facial paralysis was higher than Bell's paralysis and Hunt's paralysis, the Hunt's palsy had the lowest effect.ConclusionThe effect of acupuncture on peripheral facial palsy is depended on the location of injury.
