Catheter Sacculus Expanding Therapy for Cricopharyngeal Achalasia:A Case Report

Abstract: Objective To explore the feasibility of catheter sacculus expanding therapy for cricopharyngeal achalasia.Methods A patient cricopharyngeal achalasia after cerebral infarction treated with catheter sacculus expanding was reported.Results After 38 times expanding therapy,the patient could eat by himself without choke and whoosh.Video fluoroscopic(VF)showed that the cricopharyngeal muscle can open normally when the food went through.And there is no any aspiration.Conclusion Catheter sacculus expanding therapy can improve cricopharyngeal achalasia effectively,and can be applied easily,safe and reliable.
