Effect of Healthy Side Limb Training on Stroke Patients with Hemiplegia

Abstract: Objective To observe the effect of healthy side limb training on stroke patients with hemiplegia.Methods 160 stroke patients with hemiplegia were divided into the observation group and control group.All patients in both groups were given routine rehabilitation,but the patients in the observation group were given the healthy side limb training.All patients were evaluated with Brunnstrom grades,Bathel Index(BI),Hamilton Depression Scale(HAMD)and the function of healthy side hand before and 5 months after treatment.Results After treatment,the function of trouble side limb of patients in both groups increased significantly compared with those before treatment.The scores of Brunnstrom grades,BI,HAMD and the function of healthy side hand of patients in the observation group increased significantly compared with those in the control group(P<0.01).Conclusion The healthy side limb training may improve the function of trouble side limb,activities of daily living and depression of stroke patients with hemiplegia.
