Abstract: Objective To observe effect of hemiplegic gymnastics on motor function and activities of daily living(ADL)of stroke patients. Methods 60 stroke patients were randomly divided into the rehabilitation group and hemiplegic gymnastics group with 30 cases in each group. All patients of two groups received conventional physical therapy and occupational therapy training, using neural technology for development. The course was eight weeks. At same time the patients of the gymnastics group also received hemiplegic gymnastics treatment. Before and after treatment, all patients of the two groups were assessed with Fugl-Meyer Assessment(FMA)for motor function and Modified Barthel Index(MBI)for ADL respectively. The changes of FMA and MBI scores of patients in two groups were compared. Results Before treatment, there was no significant difference in FMA and MBI scores between two groups(P>0.05);after treatment, the FMA and MBI scores of the patients in the gymnastics group were superior to that of the rehabilitation group(P<0.01).Conclusion Hemiplegic gymnastics combined with conventional rehabilitation training can improve motor function and ADL of stroke patients.
