Comparison of Acupuncture and Massage to Ueda Test on Children with Spastic Diplegia

Abstract: Objective To compare the effects of acupuncture and massage and Ueda test on spasticity and passive ankle-joint range of motion of children with spastic diplegia.Methods Based on conventional treatment, thirty children of the experimental group were treated with acupuncture and massage, and that of the control group were treated with Ueda test.Results After treatment, the spasticity and passive ankle-joint range of motion of children in the experimental group and control group all improved ( P<0.05). The therapeutic effect of the experimental group was superior to that of the control group ( P<0.05).Conclusion The effect of acupuncture and massage is better than Ueda test in decreasing muscular tension.
