Advance in Surveillance of Developmental Delay of Children (review)

Abstract: Children with developmental delay is a subset of developmental disabilities defined as significant delay in 2 or more of the following developmental domains: gross/fine motor, speech/language, cognition, social/personal, and activities of daily living, it was estimated to affect 1% to 3% of children. It is an important public health and social problem. Developmental surveillance is an important approach to early identification of developmental delay, early intervention and prevention of disability. In order to improve the effective of surveillance,3 aspects were implemented including: laying down policies, improving screening tool and increasing rate of referrals.
