Abstract: N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptors are a group of ionotropic glutamate receptors, which are in close contact with the synaptic plasticity, long-term potentiation (LTP) and long-term depression (LTD) in the cerebral cortex or the hippocampus. This article reviewed the recent development in this field.
