Noninvasive Positive Pressure Ventilation for Stable Patients with Advanced Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (review)

Abstract: The addition of long-term noninvasive positive pressure ventilation (NPPV) to a pulmonary rehabilitation (PR) program in stable patients with advanced chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) can enhance the effects of PR, continuely improve exercise tolerance and dyspnea, stabilize pulmonary function, enhance health-related quality of life. Moreover, it maybe improve the prognosis of the patients with COPD. This article introduced the implement of the combination of PR and NPPV in stable patients with advanced COPD.
