Abstract: Objective To observe the effect of conductive education on gross motor function for children with cerebral palsy. Methods 98 children with cerebral palsy were divided into control group (n=48) and observation group (n=50) according to the wish of their parents. All the children received conventional rehabilitation, while the observation group accepted conductive education in addition. They were assessed with the total score of Gross Motor Function Measure (GMFM-88) before and 6 months after treatment. Results The total score of GMFM-88 was not significantly different between the groups before treatment (P>0.05), but it was different after treatment (P<0.01). Conclusion Conductive education may promote the recovery of gross motor function for children with cerebral palsy.
